Is my mini-test result a TOEFL score?

No. It's 20 original questions in four Reading and Writing formats, so it only tells you how familiar these formats are to you. It does not estimate an official score.

Do universities still accept 0–120 scores?

ETS reports both the 1–6 score and a comparable 0–120 total during a transition period of about two years. Check each university's own requirement.

Where do these facts come from?

What changed in January 2026

Based on the official ETS test specifications for 2026, which ETS says may still get minor revisions.

Adaptive Reading and Listening

Each section starts with a first set of questions. How you do decides whether the second part is easier or harder.

New task types

Shorter tasks closer to real student life: completing words, reading notices, building sentences, repeating what you hear, a short interview.

ETS gives 1 h 23 min to 1 h 29 min for the whole test.

Scores from 1 to 6

Each section and the total get a score from 1 to 6, in half points. A 5 in a section means C1. Score reports also show the familiar 0–120 for about two years.
